NSW GOVERNMENT
- Sacrifices the Hunter Valley to the fossil fuel industry;
- Perpetuates the resource rape of the Hunter Valley;
- Ignores the health and well-being of the families of the Hunter Valley;
FOUR CORNERS on the ABC last night simply confirmed:
- The Government line taken by Minister Ian Macdonald at a meeting with the community of Broke and Bulga, Hunter Valley, on 23rd March, 2010 when he refused, out of hand, a genuine request by the Broke and Bulga communities in the Hunter valley for a cumulative Environmental Assessment of the impacts of the mining and methane industries, of the power stations, of the hot rock drilling, and of the Defence Forces industries of the Upper Hunter Valley;
- The Government has no intention of addressing the health and well-being of the families who reside in the Upper Hunter Valley;
- The Government has no intention of addressing the damage being perpetrated against the environment of the Upper Hunter Valley by the fossil fuel miners of the Upper Hunter Valley;
- The Government has no intention of risking its multi million dollar cash cow;
- The Government has no intention of upsetting industries which may inject further moneys into its failing coffers by buying its electricity industry;
- The Government intends to continue its sacrifice of the horticulture, agriculture, viticulture and beauty of the Hunter Valley;
- The Government intends to continue its rape of the Hunter Valley to the detriment of the people who live there;
- The Government intends to continue its rape of the Hunter Valley until there's nothing left.
- The Government has no intention of initiating a cumulative environmental impact assessment of the Hunter.
