AGL ENERGY!
"Back to the very worst of Sydney Gas."
It appears that it is now impossible to receive a response, if you write to AGL ENERGY, from anybody other the Land and Approvals Manager. You know, the staff level of the former Hind Kourouche of SGL.
And when a local resident wrote to the General Manager, Upstream Gas, AGL, requesting a response to 13 questions and concerns, she received a letter from this Lands and Approvals Manager, full of motherhood statements, but with no response at all, not even a mention, to any of the questions.
Quotes from the letter of the Lands and Approvals Manager for the Hunter:
- "AGL is committed to working with neighbours and the community to inform its decision making"
- "AGL appreciates the importance of building relationships with neighbours and key community members."
- "I know that really listening and understanding the views and issues of the community is a key part in getting mutually acceptable solutions."
- "We welcome your comments."
Unfortunately that's it! Does she think the community is completely stupid? She didn't actually answer any of the questions posed, nor address any of the issues raised. It is simply a joke and takes us back to the worst of Sydney Gas two years ago.
A similar letter full of motherhood statements and no information or answers has been received by this Alliance. It appears that is all we are going to get out of AGL ENERGY.
This is grossly disappointing. We really thought we were going to be dealing with a company who had the community and the environment uppermost in its thinking. After all, AGL ENERGY claims on its website "our success is shaped and measured not only by the financial outcomes of what we do, but by the social and environmental impact our decisions and actions have on the wider community."
We were wrong. It is clear that AGL ENERGY were aware all along of the unacceptable community approach and unacceptable environmental approach of Sydney Gas, that they condoned it, and that they are now behaving in exactly the same manner.
