AGL plans for gas field in Wollombi Valley - Meeting - Wollombi NSW

Category: Political Action
AGL has confirmed their intention to develop a major coal seam gas field south from Broke toward Wollombi.
AGL has purchased the Pooles Rock vineyard at Broke, is said to be in negotiation to purchase a further 1,000 acres along Broke Road just north of Paynes Crossing and is rumoured to be purchasing a property at Paynes Crossing itself.
We now have enough information to know that a coal seam gas field would transform this rural idyll into an industrial wasteland, poisoning the environment, wrecking the aquifers we depend upon, cluttering up the landscape with drill rigs, fenced off enclosures, access roads and pipelines.
How far do you want to let this go? We live in a democracy and we do have a voice. We can stop this happening but it needs you and everyone else who cares to get informed and be active. Politicians are put into office by our votes to represent us. Do not think this is out of your hands. You have a responsibility as a custodian of this country to ensure it is not wrecked by inappropriate and unnecessary development, for the sake of yourself, your community and future generations.
You have the right to say NO. Please respect your neighbours. Do not negotiate with AGL.
WE NEED YOU
